My first understanding of liberation (moksha) was learning how to press play on the family stereo.  As I continued to explore movement I found the structure of dance and gymnastics didn’t always let me express my own voice.  In 1996, I discovered yoga after a college hip hop dance class and was struck by how much the simplicity in movement had to offer.  I explored different styles and teachers, but Kim King-Zamoff’s version of vinyasa truly satisfied my soul. I studied with Kim extensively and received my first teaching certificate from her in 2002. My understanding of Sanskrit, yogic philosophy, mantra, and anatomy was enriched at the Samadhi Yoga Center, under Kathleen Hunt’s guidance. I graduated with a RYT 200+hour certificate in 2006 from Samadhi and have been part of their teacher training faculty ever since. Annual immersions with Shiva Rea since 2004 have also accounted for a very strong influence in my teaching.  My greatest teacher presently is Mexico.  Hosting retreats, immersing in the culture, and absorbing its vibrancy has nourished my soul and opened my heart.  Namaskars (salutations) to Kim, Kathleen, Shiva, their teacher’s teachers, the world, and the lineage we all share.
